Dr. Archelle Georgiou is an experienced director, advisor, speaker, and author – who also happens to be a physician. She was a senior executive and Chief Medical Officer of UnitedHealthcare from 1995 to 2007 during which time she dismantled many of the company’s legacy policies in order to minimize the bureaucratic burdens imposed on patients and physicians.
Since leaving UHG, Archelle has served as an advisor for innovative healthcare companies, aired over 1000 news segments as the on-air medical expert for KSTP-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul and authored “Healthcare Choices”, a book to help guide consumers have a voice in they medical care decisions.
Dr. Georgiou is also an Executive in Residence at the University Of Minnesota Carlson School Of Management where she teaches anatomy and physiology to MBA students. She received her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University and practiced medicine in Northern California before transitioning into healthcare administration and policy.
