What is MANOVA?

MANOVA is a global summit on the future of health in Minnesota’s Medical Alley taking place October 8-11, 2018 at multiple locations across downtown Minneapolis. Who are the keynotes speakers?

Confirmed keynote speakers include Sam Kass, former White House official who served as Senior Policy Advisor on Nutrition for President Obama; best-selling author and co-founder of Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington; National Geographic Fellow and New York Times best-selling author Dan Buettner;  leading health thought leader Andy Slavitt who led the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services under President Obama and is now head of Town Hall Ventures; and Aneesh Chopra, current President of Care Journey and former Chief Technology Officer of the United States. Is this an annual event?

Yes, this inaugural event will be the kickoff to an annually recurring global event hosted in Minneapolis, in the heart of Medical Alley.

What kinds of programming will MANOVA offer?

Who is presenting the Summit?

MANOVA is presented by 2023 Partners in affiliation with the Medical Alley Association. Founding partners of the inaugural MANOVA Global Health Summit include Walmart, the world’s largest retail organization and Mayo Clinic, a nonprofit academic medical center focused on integrated clinical practice, education and research. Supporting partners include Minnesota Public Radio and the University of St. Thomas.


Who are 2023 Partners and Medical Alley Association?  

Founded in 1984, the Medical Alley Association supports and advances the global leadership of Medical Alley’s healthcare industry, and its connectivity around the world. MAA delivers the collective influence, intelligence and interactions that support Medical Alley.


2023 Partners is a private company founded by Mark Addicks, the former Chief Marketing Officer of General Mills, Kathy Tunheim Chief Executive Officer of Minneapolis-based Communications firm of Tunheim, and Arick Wierson, an entrepreneur and former senior media advisor to former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. Mr. Addicks serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. 2023 Partners was originally formed as part of Minnesota’s bid to host the 2023 World’s Fair and has since pivoted to organizing and programming MANOVA.


Why is it called MANOVA?

The title is an elision of ‘Medical Alley’ and ‘inNOVAtion.’
